It’s an extended rugby weekend, with our games stretched out from Thursday to Saturday, sitting nicely alongside the Six Nations action.

The 2nds kick off the festivities, with a thirsty Thursday night game at home to St Mary’s, as they look to regain top spot in Division 1. Then, on Friday, the 4ths travel out to Clontarf, looking to build on last week’s sensational win over Old Wesley in Division 5. 

Finally, we have two games on Saturday afternoon, both timed to finish just before Wales and Scotland kick off! The 3rds are away to Bective, while the 6ths face a tricky trip out to Castle Avenue to face Clontarf. Both games kick off at 13.00. Remember that these games are all subject to change, so keep an eye on facebook and twitter for updates!

Don’t forget that all the weekend’s rugby will be shown live on the big screens, with Leinster and Munster in action on Friday night, and then the 6N on Saturday and Sunday.

We are excited to announce that on Sunday the 30th of April in Terenure College RFC there will be a fundraising event held to raise money for My Canine Companion.

My Canine Companion are a charity who train and provide service dogs to children and families living with autism. It costs €10k + to train each dog but the difference these dogs make to the families is invaluable.

The event is being ran by Mary Sinclair Courtney, Alli MacDonnell and Grainne Daly.

At the event we’ll be selling gently worn formal/informal dresses, formal jackets/coats, shoes, handbags and costume jewellery.
There’ll also be an amazing line up of entertainment and some awesome raffle prizes. You really won’t want to miss it.

It’s another Six Nations weekend, with Ireland playing their first home game of the season against France. Tickets for Saturday afternoon’s match are rarer than hen’s teeth, but don’t worry – we have the Club bar all set up for you!

During every game, a pizza and a pint is only €10, with a great atmosphere guaranteed. For those going to the match, there’s a complementary pint waiting for you back in the club if you show your ticket stub. And if you’re the first back – you win three free pints! 

So make Lakelands your Six Nations venue this weekend – everyone is welcome, so bring the kids, neighbours, friends…. anyone!

Since 1982, Terenure College has played Cardiff Schools every season. Now, in the fixture’s 35th year, Terenure College RFC will play against Cardiff Schools for the first time.

The match kicks off 18.00 on Wednesday the 22nd, and after the game there will be live music and our own version of Riverdance! There will also be a raffle for a signed Irish Rugby Jersey.

 
The night is open to all young and old, so if you played in the fixture over the years, or just want to watch some great rugby, come down and join us!

The 1st XV slipped to their first defeat of the year on Saturday, with Cork Con overcoming a half time deficit to take the spoils in Lakelands. Using the conditions to the their benefit, Nure lead 10-3 at the break after tries from Sam Coughlan Murray and Eoin Joyce (who can’t seem to stop scoring). The visitors clawed their way back to lead 13-10, and a late penalty sealed the victory. However, the losing bonus point was enough to take us off the bottom of Division 1A, at the expense of Old Belvedere, whose heavy defeat to Clontarf put them below us on points difference. The 3rds were narrowly beaten by old rivals St Mary’s on Saturday, with a 14-10 scoreline enough to knock us out of the Albert O’Connell Cup in Templeville. At the same time, the 6th XV were earning a hard fought 13-10 win over BGF Ravens to keep pace with league leaders Clondalkin at the top of Division 10. Finally, on Sunday, the 20s were beaten by an excellent DUFC side, going down 39-8 in Lakelands.
