We have a full schedule this week, with all five junior sides and our 20s in action, along with the College facing their first Senior Cup game of the season.

The high flying 2nds are at home to Old Wesley on Friday match in their first game in over a month. Our table-toppers take on the 4th placed side in what is always a close and entertaining fixture. The reverse match in October saw our lads win 31-25 in Donnybrook, in a match that was packed with drama until the final whistle. At the same time, the 4ths welcome Greystones to Lakelands in a match that could go a long way towards deciding who escapes the Division 5 relegation playoffs. A win will lift us out of the drop zone, so make sure to get down and give the lads your support.

On Saturday, we have four games, with the 3rds hosting Bective in Division 3. Bective are in second spot, with us in third, 13 points behind. A win is vital if we are to maintain our hopes of reaching the playoffs in our first season at this level. The 5ths, top of Division 8, are also at home, to Stillorgan. Stillorgan lie in 6th spot, but the reverse fixture was very close, with our lads on the right side of a 24-19 win in October.

The 6ths have a massively important game also, facing Suttonians away. The home side lie in third place in Division 10, one place ahead of Les Devlin’s men, and with the top two (Tarf and DLSP) facing each other at the same time, this week could have a huge bearing on the league table. Meanwhile, the 20s will be looking to back up last week’s great win over Rock with a win over bottom side Buccaneers in the JP Fanagan league. Again, this weekend sees two top-four sides facing each other, where a win for Lansdowne over top side UCD would throw the whole league wide open.

There’s plenty of drama on offer – without even looking forward to the College against Mary’s on Sunday! – so make sure to get down and cheer on the lads wherever you can. There’s no such thing as a dead rubber in the Metro leagues!!
